PUMP advances issues affecting young and young-thinking people in Pittsburgh, making the region a more dynamic, engaging, and diverse place in which to live. We engage the young professional in the issues that affect attraction and retention. We listen to your opinions then create programs, support existing programs, advocate for issues and educate the right people on what’s best for our region. Other PUMP programs include the highly successful Pittsburgh Sports League, Pittsburgh’s Next, 40 Under 40 and Member Events such as Happy Hours and Wrangles.

The Career Development Center (CDC) of JF&CS addresses current and emerging needs for career services-connecting young people, displaced workers and career changers with job skills and career guidance while furnishing local businesses with expert employment consultation services. Also CDC administers the Central Scholarship & Loan Referral Program, a resource for dozens of scholarships and loans, for the UJF.

The Hebrew Free Loan Association of Pittsburgh offers interest free loans on a non-sectarian basis to individuals and families whose needs are significant and who may not qualify for assistance through normal financial institutions and resources. Interest free loans, instead of charity, fill an important gap in our social system by promoting self-sufficiency with dignity.
