Jack G. Buncher Director of Jewish Student Life at Carnegie Mellon University

Grant Halasz joins Hillel JUC as the Jack G. Buncher Director of Jewish Student Life at Carnegie Mellon University, bringing over a decade of experience in Jewish engagement, education, and leadership. Most recently serving as Director of Ruach and Youth Engagement at Temple Ohav Shalom in Allison Park, Pennsylvania, Grant has spent his career building inclusive Jewish communities and helping people of all ages find meaningful connection to Jewish life. A proud alum of the University of Cincinnati, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Judaic Studies Magna Cum Laude, Grant’s passion for Jewish community was shaped in part by his own formative experiences at Hillel as a college student. When he’s not on campus, you can find Grant making music, playing card and board games, playing golf (ball, disc/Frisbee, mini, etc.), or spending time with his fiancé, Amanda.
