The 21+ group at Hillel provides programming specifically for students over age twenty-one.

70 Faces Magazine

70 Faces is a literary magazine created by Hillel students. It accepts art, poetry, fiction, nonfiction, and music submissions. Get involved by joining the editorial, design, or advertising team.

A capella

Auditions for Hillel's brand-new A Capella group will be held September 2nd and 3rd from 6-9 PM at Hillel. Contact Courtney for more information!

Café Ivrit

Whether you're a beginner or just a little rusty, come to Café Ivrit each week to learn the Hebrew language! Café Ivrit is open to all skill levels.

Carnegie Shpil Company

Founded in 2008, the Carnegie Mellon Klezmer Band plays klezmer, folk, and dance music across Pittsburgh.

Challah for Hunger at Pitt & CMU

Challah for Hunger members bake challah and sell it to students, donating the proceeds to hunger-related charities.

Hillel Student Board at CMU & Pitt

The Hillel Student Board guides Hillel's programming and campus involvement. They collaborate with other student organizations, host events, and make decisions on behalf of Hillel-involved students. Jewish 101/Learning with Danielle

Hillel's Senior Jewish Educator, Danielle Kranjec, offers classes on various Jewish topics including Hebrew language, Jewish law, and anything else you want to learn about. Contact Danielle or join the Learning with Danielle Facebook group for more info.

Jews of Social Work

Students who are Social Work major or plan to study Social Work get together to do experiential activities and discuss the relationship between Jewish values and social work values.


LGBTQIA+ Jews offers a safe space within Hillel for students who are Jewish or interested in Judaism and identify within the LGBTQIA+ spectrum. Their events focus on the intersections between Jewish and LGBTQIA+ identities. Contact Erin Cullen to get on the mailing list.

Lunch and Learn Series

Lunch and Learn events are casual, hour-long learning opportunities focused on a particular Jewish topic. Many Lunch and Learns focus on the Jewish value of social justice.

Close Shabbat every Saturday night with guitar music and friends.

Panthers for Israel

Learn about and advocate for Israel with Panthers 4 Israel. They host events celebrating Israeli culture.
