Tartans4Israel, the Israeli cultural and professional organization of Carnegie Mellon University, will be hosting a hybrid business conference from February 24th-27th featuring Israeli technology and innovation. Israeli CEO’s and business leaders will share their experiences within the High-Tech industries, such as FinTech, CleanTech, MedTech, and PropTech, and local business leaders around Pittsburgh will share the indelible impact that Israeli innovation has made to their businesses and industries. This conference will be held in the Tepper School of Business, with virtual viewing as an option, and will be co-sponsored by the Hillel JUC, Tepper, and Jewish National Fund. We will be partnering with business organizations on campus such as Scottie Ventures, the Tepper Real Estate Club, Blockchain Club, and the Undergraduate Entrepreneurship Association.  The aims of this conference are for Carnegie Mellon students to learn about different industries within High-Tech, to gain tangible business skills and the opportunity to network with entrepreneurs, and to develop an understanding of how Israel plays a powerful role in these industries. The conference will provide students the opportunity to attend panels that are developed based on industry and intellectual connection, to network and build relationships with influential business leaders, and the chance to participate in a case competition/makathon to exercise and develop marketable skills.

For our makathon, we are partnering with TOM Global (Tikkun Olam Makers), which is a global movement of communities that creates and disseminates affordable solutions to neglected challenges of people living with disabilities, the elderly and the poor. We will be partnering with a local non-profit organization and provide a challenge to students in which they will create a prototype and business plan that will have a real-world impact. Students will also have the opportunity to submit their projects to the Abraham Accords Innovation Challenge (https://www.tomchallenge.org/) in which they will have the chance to win $3,000 and showcase their project at an expo in Dubai!

All students are welcome and encouraged to attend regardless of background and religious affiliation. We hope to see you there!
