When paying with a typical CMU ID card that does not have the traditional “blocks” meal plan, dining vendors will attempt to use DineXtra points (their dollar-for-dollar dining ‘cash’ equivalent) as the default payment option used by dining services. The CMU-Hillel Networking Meal Cards, however, operate on a “special” CMU-Hillel Dining Plan set-up like the meal cards provided by the Office of Residential Education (ResEd) to their Resident Assistants (RAs). Therefore, to find the funds available on a card, a card user must specify to the dining vendor that the card uses a “special dining” RA-like meal plan account.
NOTE: We are aware of an issue with using the magnetic stripe to swipe a Card for payment. If the issue occurs, please request the dining vendor manually enter your Card ID#.
